Customer Success: Pipeline Organics

How Pipeline Organics Cut CFD Costs and Halved Meshing Time with ChopMesh

Pipeline Organics, a UK-based SME developing advanced bio-fuel cell technologies, has adopted ChopMesh, a meshing solution from Voxshell, to support computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis for the design of new bio-fuel cells.

By deploying ChopMesh within an automatic OpenFOAM workflow, Pipeline Organics eliminated the need for commercial CFD solver licences while maintaining a scalable, production-ready simulation capability. The adoption resulted in a 50% reduction in meshing time, enabling faster and more reliable design iterations.

The investment delivered a payback period of less than one month. These benefits were driven by the avoidance of commercial CFD licence costs, reduced engineering time, and fewer failed simulation runs and rework cycles.

“ChopMesh made OpenFOAM viable as a scalable, licence-free production CFD platform,” said Pipeline Organics.

ChopMesh is designed to enable industrial users to deploy open-source CFD at scale by providing robust, automation-ready meshing technology compatible with high-performance computing environments.
